Aftermarket Gear Knobs
whats the best way to secure and after market universal gear knob? you know the ones that don't just twist onto your thread? i've got a few layers of tape under mine yet it still comes loose, especially when my car has been sitting in the sun, anyone have any ideas?
i know alot of the Sparco knobs come with set screws that tighten down on the shifter. If those come loose, like mine have, you might wanna put some lock tight down on the screws to prevent them from backing out...
sigh
go to your local hardware store and ask for some. It comes in a little tube and you apply a little to the threads of a bolt or screw. I helps keep the bolt in place and prevents it from backing out by itself.

I had a Razo knob on my Civic before, it came with a plastic sleeve that was smooth, and it would tap itself when you screwed it onto the shifter. Was tough going the last few turns, but it never came loose.
