My Lancer
Ok, I have a question.....
Why is it that people will drive around with body kits that are not painted. It makes no sense to me. I mean even if the kit needs work to be fitted, it will still be easier to piece paint the kit than try to paint it while its mounted on the car. It just doesnt make much sense to me. Paint the kit and then mount it.
Im not trying to flame here, Im just trying to understand the reasoning.

The whole car is getting painted at once so the kit has to be on to paint it, as it is getting marblized and it would look bad if painted seperately, since it wouldn't run together then. It's the blitz kit all the way around. the kit went on pretty easy. The only hard part was taking off the rear bumper, all those friggen screws inside the car and out.
Plus... you gotta see if the kit fits or not... because if you get the kit painted and then try to put it one then find out that the kit doesnt fit. you wasted money painting the kit. THEN you cant return the kit because you painted it already. ALSO if you try it on.. to see if the kit will fit... It'll be a hassel to take the kit off...
I already stated that the kit couldbe test fitted...
So you say its a hassle to mount the kit, work out any issues, then dismount and paint by pieces? Have you ever painted a car? Its a bigger hassle to properly mask and tape off areas and try to prevent over spray. In this case though, if the whole car is getting painted a different color, then the best method is to paint the kit mounted on the car....
