started applying the front panels and lights to get the holes preset for whn the hood gets here wednesday! Got a C-1 carbon hood from carbon creations on its way
not sure how to start the wiring on these bad boys... im using hids for the middle light and fog lights ill use a 3000k light but might need help wiring the oem ballast..
fixed the gap by the door and rear fender...bothered me alot im sure someone noticed it before lol
fenders up front are pretty wide gonna need some big wheels to fill these gaps
gas door still needs to be done..not sure how
None of the parts are, I used oem tails and oem 9 headlights, but I bought ait 35mm wide rear fiberglass fenders, 25mm fiberglass front c speed fenders, fiberglass jdm 9 front and carbon c1 hood
you sir give us base model owners some pride and you are doing a amazing job... i would do this to my own car too if i had access to a welder lol i has few questions for ya... how are you mounting the evo bumper to the car? did u have to swap out for the evo rad support or are you using what you have ,, aka what came on the base lancer? once its said and done, are you gonna use good filler over ait panels and make it smooth transition to original panel ?
Thanks a bunch! The rear bumper is getting mounted to the ait fenders just like it would on the actual car fenders, I'm using the oz radiator support, I just have to make metal extensions for the tabs and figure out how to wire the headlights. And yes I'll mould the fenders into the body but idk what kind of filler is stronger than bondo haha
maybee bondo-glass? that stuff has fiberglass mixed into the bondo, then theirs also pro grade bondo stuff you can use.. to stick i would prep area around ait fenders to bare metal and spread the filler between the ait fender and oem, make sure you give eno space to spread it evenly so it looks smooth.. i used bondo-glass before, strong stuff when i had to repair my evo 7 bumper.. what some have done is lay fiberglass mat over fender to oem panel, once its dry then you lay bondo over that.. the link i posted on page 1, post 12, has what that dude did starting on page 7 and look on page 8... that will help with panels and fuel door keep up the good work
Thanks! I got more pics to come I'm so busy with all these projects I just picked up a ralliart and I swapped all the stuff into an 03 oz and turboed it so that took up some time, today I just got done with the 4 disc 5 lug swap to this evo conversion
