It should say on the box if it is clear coat safe. You could always check out there website and find out. Also there should be a product hotline number you can call with any questions.

whats the clay bar for? i thought it was for taking off overspray and stuff, and that you had to keep water running on it while you use it so it doesnt eat your paint???

The claybar is to remove overspray and caked dirt that has attached itself to the car's clearcoat. With the claybar comes some sort of lubricant u spray on the area ur working and on the claybar. DO NOT attempt to use water as lubrication as it wont suffice and cause the dirt to scratch ur clearcoat and ur paint. After claybaring your entire car, it will be smooth as a baby's *** but ALSO it'll be VERY bare and unprotected. Immediately after clay barring the car u need to apply a nice thick coat of carnauba wax. That will add gloss and will protect ur car's finish.

i use the mother's clay bar kit on my car.. in the kit comes a bar of clay, a big bottle of liquid detailer [used as lubricant], and a small bottle of carnuba wax for one application. the box says that the clay bar can be used up to 3 times, but i stretch it out to 5 uses per bar. i ran out of the mother's liquid detailer, so i use meguiar's 'instant detailer' and meguiar's carnuba wax. just like kareem said, as soon as you finish using the clay bar, you HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO put a coat of wax on your car.

Do people do their whole car with that bar, or just specific spots?

So... are you rubbing the whole car down with the bar? seems like that would take for ever. And I have some white over spray that came from God knows where that I have been unable to remove, would this bar do it?

sometimes if you really care about the car you will spend the whole day clay-barring, de-bugging and tarring, then waxing and doing stuff like that. unforutnately I havnt had much time to do al that, but I might spend 300$ to get a pro waxing job done soon. weee!

yep. it really only took like 30 mins the first time because my paint was full of crap. now whenever I do it it only takes 10-15 mins tops. Yeah, it might take that white paint out but I dunno.
