~covering top of dash~

i am planning on covering the top portion of the dash with a material. the only thing i wonder about is when taking of the to dash piece, will the air bag go off? does anyone have knowledge on this, i don't really feel like losing my melon when taking of the top dash piece. hit me up if you know of anything. i'll take pics when done!!

no it will not go off. there is a yellow wire for the air bag and you can jus unplug it. also to take the dash out you have to take the entire thing out. you cannot jus take the top piece off. its a pain in the ****.

Nope...just unscrew them and pop it up. you have use little bit of muscle on the dash panel.

awesome. thanks. yeah i kind of figure that it would make my *** hurt, but hopefully it will be worth it.

what would be anyone's recommandation for covering up the airbag space, but still have the air bag be fully fuctionable? do you think cut the material around that hole? but still leave it on there but just cut it? what do you all think?

maybe cut it on the sides and the bottom, that way it'll fly up and won't get in the way if it goes off.

or just....take ur front window off....and lay on the hood and put the 'material' down on the dash....im sure it'd be easier than worrying about the airbag!
