The basic damper kit has preset and non-adjustable dampening settings, whereas the ss kit has adjustable settings.

tein basic damper:
- ride height adjustable = yes
- adjustable dampening = no

tein super street:
- ride height adjustable = yes
- adjustable dampening = yes

both do not use EDFC

exactly what Majestic said... basic dampers are set for performance handling while with the super street you can set to hardcore performance stiffness...haha

and about the skunk2's to the tein's... they shouldnt even be compared.. skunk2's IN MY OPINION arnt even really coilovers.. there just adjustable springs...

my car lowered on tein's basic damper.. still at the factory setting out of the box.. .

go for tein... i have the skunk2 coilovers.. they are definately just adjustable springs like mark said.. not only that.. they make a lot of noise at the most random times... they squeek a lot when they get wet too.. because the skunk2 kit only includes the springs/"coilovers" they also really jack up ur stock shocks!. avoid all the headaches and just save up so u can get the full tein ss setup!
