Stupid Question, Paint

Ok this may be a stupid question but i've never had to find it. Where do i get automotive paint? I've been reading up on the painting threads and i'm an accomplished painter in terms of custom guitar work so i figured i could probably tackle painting my body kit once i get it. Where woudl i get A69 silver paint and the correct activators and whatnot. Is there an online paint place? Dealer? And how much does it usually cost. Thanks Guys

call auto body shops. i dont know if the dealer will have the paint but i know some dealerships have bodyshops so call up the dealer to. best bet is to find where the body shop gets their paint and get it their.

Go to your nearest auto body store and give them the paint code. Then choose between PPG or Dupont (Two of the best paint products in the US). I used Dupont for my front bumper and PPG for my sides and rear. We have the same paint code anyway.

Yea, there is always a local paint and body supply store near all the body shops. Just ask them or look it up in the phone book. Paint can be bought in a quantity as small as pints but clear coat usually comes by the gallon and is expensive if you get the quality product($90-$350)You will also need thinner and hardner. Since you have painted before Im sure you will remember to get a water catch for the gun and strain the paint well.
