clear reflectors

i know this has been posted about probably 200 times, but i want to bring it up again . . . . we all need to go on a world-wide search for some CLEAR REFLECTORS to replace those god awful orange things on the lower front bumper . . . . we NEED these OFF . . and i know that we all would like some clear ones rather than painting them or taking them off and putting mesh behind them . . . . . even if we could get some clear ones that are even lights as well and then run them into the parking lights . . . that would look so NICE . . . . so lets go folks . . . . lets find some lights . . . .

here's an idea, i mean it won't be a reflector but will simulate the look.

go down to home depot and go into the lighting section and get some drop ceiling panels for lights. its like 6 dollars a sheet. and just cut that out and put it in. it simulates clear sidemarkers it just doesn't reflect lol.

or you can get some reflectors from another car like for say my GTi and do a lil modding here and there and achieve similar results

i was gonna try getting some for a gti . . . but as i looked at them closer . .it would be a real pain in the *** to get them to look good on a lancer . .. even with some modding - -

how about looking for some rear sidemarkers from another car. like an accord or something. and then just clear em out or get clear ones. then u can just put in an amber or whatever color bulb. rear sidemarkers kinda look like the ones on the lancer

or maybe start contacting companies like procarparts.com and see if they'd do something for you guys...

well, i sent an email to procarparts.com and asking if they could produce some clear reflectors for us . . . I said that the demand was high for something to replace our stock orange ones and they replied with this . . .

"We will definitely product clear bumper reflectors for the 02-03 lancer. Check back with us by the end of November. Thank you. "

so check there website periodically towards the end of this month - - i'll let you all know when I hear something from them.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but wouldn't it look cool if the reflectors were smoked out, like black tint or something?

i think it would look great on some car colors. not all. like on the darker colors it would look kool but not on like white or yellow. but yea don't use window tint, a can of nightshades should be good. also the crafts store sell this thing for glass. i totally forgot about it. its a semi transparent spray that is supposed to mock a stained glass look. that would be kool to color the reflectors or maybe try out on the sidemarkers...

i just think it would look good to have them clear . . . . rather than tinting or smoking out all the lights and reflectors . . . . its all a matter of a opinion, but like i said for those who want clear ones . . . they should be available soon
