Help... Mudflaps...
1) I'm not sure about the size of the screws...the guy gave them to me free...you can probably get an idea from the pictures....
2) For the back mudflaps, I used one of the plastic screws from the side skirts (as you see from the second picture)
3) I live in Toronto, so rain might not be as bad as where you are. No problems with mudguards so far....
Btw, in the 3rd picture (the front mudguards), you can see two holes. I tried using the plastic screws from the sideskirts, but it didn't fit...so i just drilled the 3 holes....
Hope that helps....lemme know if u have any more questions

So yesterday my buddy John came over and we took off the front plastic screws holding up the side skirt. We made a template using a peice of paper to make sure we knew where the screw holes were and then drilled into the left front mudflap. We then used that mudflap as a template for the right front mudflap. That worked out really well actually. However, after drilling the holes and aligning up with the old plastic screws, we realized that we broke the plastic screws and they had absolutly no grip. I would have to go get new metal screws to replace them. So we called it a night.
That's when I read lancerko post. And I realized that I should have just put new screws into the side skirts and not messed with the old plastic screws. Well it was too late.
Today I actually had to go somewhere in the morning and I was worried about driving without the plastic bolts but went ahead and drove anyway... Thank god nothing fell off. After I got back I decided to get some screws to hold the mudflaps in. The only problem was that I had already made the holes in the mudflaps. My friend came back over and we went to Lowes to get some screws. We took his car instead of mine. Bad idea. Without my car we wouldn't be able to check the holes to see if the screws thread would be thick enough.
We got back to my house and that's when I found out that I bought screws that were too small. They didn't grip into the holes. So we ended up going back to Lowes, this time with my car. We bought some bolts this time instead of screws and walked out to my car and checked to see if they would fit... They kinda did... sort of.
So we get back to my place and we try putting the bolts into the mudflaps before we put them on the wheel well. Turns out that the hole in the mudflaps weren't large enough to accomadate the new larger bolts... So I had to drill out the holes slightly. But after I did that putting the bolts on wasn't all that difficult. It actually went fairly well, except the front top left hole wouldn't take the bolt... so I just said screw it and left that one without a bolt.
We put the right mudflap on and this time we didn't take out the top plastic screw but instead only put bolts in the bottom two holes. It's in there really snug and I doubt they will ever come off.
Well the back tires went really fast and by this time it is getting dark outside. By this point I'm just ready to get it over and done with so I kinda rushed it a bit. We made sure that the flaps were the same height off of the ground as the front mudflaps and that they were level. We made a template with paper again to make sure we knew where they holes were as they were in a different location then the front holes were. We drilled the holes in the mudflaps. And this time we were able to use the stock screws.
Here's the rub though... We forgot to measure out how far the flaps stick out from the rear fender with respect to the already mounted front ones. So now the back ones aren't as far out as the front. Do'h!
So if you stand back and look at it from the back they look a bit strange. But you'd have to look really carefully or be a robot with serious scanning abilities to notice.
It was just so funny as hell after we stood back and looked at them, seeing as they are kind screwed up... We just laughed our asses off. My friend had this look of death on his face and I'm the type of person that just lets stuff like that slide. You know, I couldn't change them now becuase of all the hell I went through to get them on, it will remind me everytime I look at them of the crazy night we had. I had an easier time putting on my exhaust then putting on these.
I appreciate everyones help and suggestions. Next time I will actually listen, instead of mindlessly doing it my way. But the plus is that they are using the stock mounting points and if I decide to take them off I can and no one's the wiser.
I'll take pics tomorrow and post them up. It's about time I took some pics of my car.
Thanks everyone,
Fox

Those look PIMP!
You guys mentioned the $400 Ralliart ones...Yeah, I have those. I bought them over a year ago and love them. At the time, they were the quickest solution that I saw to get mudflaps on my Evo and everyone was screaming about the "strange rock chips" on the rear of the driver's side rear door...Well, like I said, I have had them on the car for over a year now, and I just finally got my first door ledge rock chip. Thest things work wonders, and I think they look pretty damn trick, too. These cars are rally inspired, right? So bring on the rally-style mud flaps!

Thanks 90GSX-03EVO and Automatic 51. I really think they look good but like I said it more for function and rock deflection that I got them. As for paying 400 bucks... damn! I wish I had 400 bucks to spend on mudflaps and 4000 for a turbo.

That is the most god awful looking mod I have ever seen. Please remove them, or may your cars be stolen and parted out! J/K .... but seriously, those look absoloutly ridiculous.

Well you can't win them all. But when I start trying to live to the expectations of others then I'll call you up. I'm sure I'll be a happier person when that day comes. For now I'll just live knowing that I won't be happy. And I'll leave the mudflaps on.
