I've always wondered.....

I've been seeing "Spray on interior color", like you can practically spray paint your interior a diff. color. I was wondering if this stuff even works? lol.... Has any1 tried it before?? Just a question that I've always wanted to know haha.

timdog4life Aug 31, 2004 06:35 PM

never even heard of this stuff....where can you get it from?

howdydee Aug 31, 2004 06:37 PM

ive seen some on ebay.... and in some mags.... lol

DAVO_VRX'02 Aug 31, 2004 06:38 PM

i used to have an Alfa which i used the vinyl spray in once.
it looks trick for the first little while but then as the days go past its starts to crack and stuff and it looks **** when you try to repair it and stuff.

other things you can get are like adhesive carbon look-a-like stuff and other things.

in my recommendation, you'd be better retriming your car.
i dont rate the vinyl dye stuff.

you can buy it at walmart... you can do it, but if some gets scraped it looks ghetto... i wouldn't go that route. Or if you are going to paint just paint the interior plastic pieces.

howdydee Aug 31, 2004 06:40 PM

lol its cracks?? I thought it dyes it. Just like when u bleach your black shirt.

DAVO_VRX'02 Aug 31, 2004 06:42 PM

its a really **** house product.
only thing it will actually dye on is fabric (like seats and stuff)

and it makes fabric go really crusty
on vinyl and plastics its just like a paint

howdydee Aug 31, 2004 06:43 PM

oh i see.... i thought i found a way to save money ... guess not :\

DAVO_VRX'02 Aug 31, 2004 06:45 PM

so did I!!!!
haha

but i didnt have anyone to tell me how rank it actually goes
your lucky
i had a fu.ct lookin car for a while there

howdydee Aug 31, 2004 07:54 PM

arg lol.... i have the urg to aleast try it.... could i ask, did it look bad on your seats, the "leatherish stuff", or the hard plastic? Or all? lol

drivethrufinch3 Aug 31, 2004 07:57 PM

i had it on my tiburon and it sucked any little scratch and your saw the under color i always had to be super careful, and it was a ***** cause i always armoralled my car so that stuff blocked out the paint.

howdydee Aug 31, 2004 08:04 PM

is there any way for it not to scratch off? like more coats or a protective layer? well the Dupli-color brand says it doesnt chip off or stuff like that.....

Archangelite Aug 31, 2004 08:06 PM

OMG, is this thread for real? maybe im not seeing the big picture. but are you asking if you can paint the interior a diff color with spray paint? if thats the case, then YES, alot of us have done it already, look at registries.
