I meant "work".

They get heckled for their efforts by their peer. It gets pretty harsh before MODS have to close the topic. Almost like a "tar and feather" situation.

Yeah, I know I've seen this subject quite a few times. Didn't someone post a thread explaining how to run a successful search like a year ago? Oh yeah, I guess it's not stickied so you'd have to search for it too!

Don't worry travelsize, this forum just tends to be more... ****-like. I stopped caring about repeated subjects because some of the ones I know are around are archaic and hard to find. My rule: If I can't run a search and find it myself, then you're excused. If I find it in 3 tries or less, you're a noob.

Ok, I'm going to search for disc brake conversion and see what comes up.

If you read the entire thread I linked right up there, you'll see a few options on where to find conversions. Most of them are just rear discs off other related cars (JDM Lancers, Mirages, Cedias, etc.) and require a little tinkering though.

sorry to resurect a old post, but it seemed like a better idea than starting a new one. Would it be feasible to move the front disc system to the back after a new set of wilwoods in the front?
How much modification would really be required.

Sounds like a huge and expensive project to me. Live axle to static, different spindles, different mounting points (2 tie rods to 1), but I couldn't tell you for sure.

It is not possible to move the front brakes to the rear. The rotor dimensions and caliper mounting are all wrong and you'd be missing your e-brake.

lancer doesnt really need rear discs, especially since mine is auto, but i figure if i get wilwoods, then it may be worth it to try...just wanted some opinions. thanks

Not to step o nany toes, because Gunshin, you know that when it comes to engine, I can hold my own, but when it comes to brakes and suspension, that is your turf exclusively.

Now to my knowledge, theoretically, could he use a bias valve and a hydraulic handbrake, assuming the rotor dimension and caliper mounts could be "worked with"? Or am I totally off-base here?

You could probably set up a hydraulic parking brake, but it would be illegal and a tad unsafe. All 50 states require that one axle have a mechanical brake for redundancy.
