About 400$ difference give or take... is the extra 400$ for the SS version definately worth the extra cash?

I would strongly suggest you do a search as this has been covered extensively in the past. The quick and dirty of it is, the SS have completely adjustability (height and dampening) while the Basics only have height adjustability.
