Creaking?

OK, every once in a while, I'll hear a creaking sound coming from the back of the car. There's no one thing that causes it. Sometimes over bumps, sometimes not. Sometimes cornering, sometimes not. I've gotten it a few times from rocking the car back and forth, but not always. I have stock suspension with 20k miles. Could a spring or shock be going bad or something?

PS - I just pray someone reads this since it's not in general.

Weird man. Try opening your door, and listening as you get out of car. My oz creaks in rear end as I get out of car all the time. Not because of my weight either, I'm only 185 pounds. ???? I don't know either what it is.

i see you have the RRM strut bar, as soon as i put that in, my car made the same sound over bumps and corners, but i also have the upgraded swaybar and perches, i think its jsut cause the struts are a little tighter, i dont think its anythign to worry about, but might go away when the car is lowered

ps. it still makes the same sound, i have a feeling when i replace the shocks and springs and it gets lower itll be ok

It's gremlins, they are everywhere!!! How about putting a thin strip of rubber (like from a bike tire tube) between the perch and the frame? Just an idea.

Only problem - I haven't installed the strut bar yet (it's in the description). My car is pretty much stock right now, so I don't know why it would make noise.

ciaxtrinity and blacksheep do both have OZs though. All OZs have a sway bar in th rear, even if you haven't upgraded it. It is basically a metal bar suspended on two perches, with rubber inserts that is will flex between. Those inserts in the perches are very likely to creak and do lots in my car. They need to be greased, but I never get around to it. If you complain to dealership, they'll likely get it for you. I just hate getting under my car in my dirt driveway and don't care enough to visit the dealership.

I went back to dealer yesterday and they fixed it.
Go back to dealer and spend you 20 minutes for fixing it.

lube up everything around your rear sway bar. its most likely the rubber mounts(shaped like a D or closed U) and the little rubber mounts at the end of each side of the sway bar. i did that and all my creaking stopped

I had the VERY SAME problem...it was in to the dealership 3 times for it untill they fixed it right.

what your problem is...the bushings on the control arms....mine was a bad bushing on the lower control arm on the driver side...the noise was LOUD as Hell...take it to the dealership had have them look at the control arms...

funny, I only have a creak in the front never had a creak in the back, even when I had the rear sway bar installed wrong.
