wheel spacers

Hi, i was wondering about wheel spacers, and though maybe someone here at evolutinm could shed some light for me, i have an ES 2008, with the stock 16" wheels, cant change them at the moment but thought that some spacers could help it look a little better, are there any pros or cons about using spacer? which spacers would you recommend? h&r? what size? anybody here haas any photos? please post them.
im just looking to improve the looks, with the spacers and maybe paint the rims, but if this can adversely affect my car or its handling them i definitely wont do it, but if its no big deal and its going to look better the ill do it.
thanks for any feedback!

u should always use hub centric spacers if u go wider especially when its higher than 5mm cuz u wanna be able to have enough space on ur studs for the lugs to be completely secured..
