Tires

Quick question, due to monitary reasons, I wont be getting new rims until next year. However, I have a really good discount on tires this upcoming week and want to throw new ones on my stock OZ rims. My question is, does anyone have any opinions on Dunlop SP Sport A2's. I looked online at the tire rack and they seem pretty decent. Will they be any better than the Yoko's on my car right now. My discount is only with Goodyear and Dunlop brands, and it has to be an all season tire since I live in Chicago. Another question, I know the stock OZ rims are 7 in wide, right? Could I manage to shove a 205 series tire on them? Thanks.

If you're stuck with those two brands, that is the best choice. If you get the 205/60HR15's they should work, measure first though...they are .2" wider than 195's.

Thanks for the info, your always on top of this stuff b_tapper. Unfortunately, it is just those two brands. They seem to be pretty decent, the Dunlops at least. Too bad cant get another set of rims with summer tires right now....

I should start looking at all seasons for the winter...Summer tires in the snow are way too scary even for me. For an all season those dunlops are really highly rated.

Lightbulb rim width

The O Z rim is only 6 inch but Im sure a 205 would be fine.

Some came with goodyears, some with Yokos. I got Yokos. The guy I sold my wheels and tires to got Yokos too.

Goodyear still covered the warranty according to my salesperson/manager too. The grip was still awful. My Falkens slip if I want them to and one occasion if the roads are slick, but otherwise the grip is infinitely better.

IMHO any tire is better than the stock Yokos. ...they did look kinda nice though despite the huge sidewalls.
