Question Spring Decision Time in Summer

Well, the Arospeeds aren't even in the running, so, the only real choices are the Tein S-techs, and the Eibach twins. So, I put it to the forum, which would you trust more.

I haven't heard anything negative about the Teins, but, they seem pretty hard to find. I've heard reports that you can get them for about 200 at most performance shops, but, I haven't had an opportunity to check out my local shop yet. Retail is about 175 USD pre-shipping.

The Eibachs, on the other hand, I've heard horror stories of un-even settling, and such, that makes me wary of them. However, they do have two options, plus the name recognition. Which brings me to a sub-question: if you prefer the Eibachs, which would you recommend? The Sportlines or the ProKit? And what is the difference other than the drop? They sell on Option Auto Salon for 195 USD each.

So, check in with your opinion, and if you could, answer my subquestion on the Eibachs. Thanks.

Tein

I'm going to give the Teins a shot I think. Nicely priced as well. It's not that I don't trust Eibach, it's that I've heard the same stories and their quality control seems to be lacking.

I don't know the drop on the Teins (hopefully not much...ideally the same as the Eibach Pro kit), but I am definitely a bit fan of them.

Intrax might also be another option too.

The S-techs give you a drop of 1.5 on front and back from what I've read... Right now, they are getting my vote as well, but, i was just wanting to see what the feeling was. As for ordering, I found one site, but, the first time I tried, so, I thought they would be relatively easy to find, and didn't note the address. Stupid @$$ me. Haven't been able to find another site that has the one's for the Lancer just yet, and I will be sure to post it when I find it. But, it was higher than retail, and I have a feeling that shipping will cost a pretty penny due to the fact that the package itself was listed as being close to 30 pounds. May be cheaper to find a mod shop and buy it for a little higher than retail, and have them eat the shipping.

1.5" all around is good for car balance, because the whole car drops an even amount. I'm sure the Teins are sweet. However my Intrax coils were 1.25 in back and I think that starts to border on the tucked look. 1.5 in the back would be too much in my book.

No need to get defensive. The whole point of getting opinions before hand is to avoid being one of those people telling the stories. Hell, I may not have started the thread, but I appreciate everyone's input. It'll help me in the not-too-distant future when I make the decision myself.

Pro kit and SS...I still can't make up my mind, but I'm leaning somewhat heavily towards the Tein springs still.

They don't make my first choice (H&R) so my second choice would be teins. I was gonna get them for my car, but they are very hard to get.

Yeah, Brian, I've been kicking myself in the *** for not writing down or remembering the site I found that was selling them. I've been trying to find that damn site ever since.

By the way Hobie, you're welcome Just kidding. But, really, I think this is a poll that really needed to be put in here. Really, wouldn't be to bad if it was made into a sticky....

Try emailing German-Autowerks. I've had people order stuff from them that they don't normally sell.

orders@german-autowerks.com

They definitely have the best prices around. So good that they almost got banned from the i-club for undercutting prices.

Hi,

We currently offer those springs for $175 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 states (+ 8.25% CA Resident sales tax if you live in California).

Thanks

Max

BTW, the model number I've found was SKR54-S1B00. 175 shipped!!! The damn box weighs 30 lbs! That's a hell of a deal.

Told ya they are the best Don't know or care how they undercut everyone. Low prices and great service. If the demand is high enough I'm sure they could add a mitsu section like they added a subaru and lexus section.

B, these springs work out, you're gonna start getting birthday, christmas (or hannukah), and hell, maybe even valentine cards from me! Just don't tell my wife about the last one! J.k. Sorry, just really excited. Thanks man.
