Coilover Adjustments
Coilover Adjustments
I'm thinking about purchasing coilovers, but the concern if its reasonable to get adjustable damping ones if the access to the rear strut coilover adjustment nut/knob seems impossible. If i remember correctly, from removing the carpet and the shell housing to the rear struts, theres only 2 bolts showing that fastens the strut to the chassis and then theres a wall of metal that covers the rest of the assembly. So if i do purchase adjustable damping coilovers, to access the rear damping adjustment, i would have to either drill/cut a hole into the metal housing to create access or I need to remove the rear strut and adjust it and reinstall them. I drive a 2008 Lancer ES.
Am i right on my assumptions? Has anyone purchased adjustable coilovers and found an easy way to adjust their rear damping?

depends on what you want to do. i have them installed in my car and i love them. i however used a hole saw big enough to pass the flex drive through this hole. The coilovers will come with this flex drive if you get the megan ones. then i just cut a couple of slits in the carpet and it is tucked away between the foldable rear seats and the tower. All i need to do to adjust is lower the seats and the knob is right there with easy access. The rears is def a 2-man process if you do this. It was kinda hard to hold everything in place.
