the pros to having coilovers are that they are adjustable. many people take advantage of this to drop in the summer nd raise in winter, if they are corner weighed and set properly can improve steering. however the cons are that they are pretty expensive and the only other rare problem i have heard is that they are bouncy haha

Having to install springs on a car is a pain the in *** first of all. Jack up the side you will be working on, disconnect bolts holding strut in place, remove spring from strut(pain in the *** if you dont have a helper, even with a spring compressor). Realize that the nut on the top of the strut will not come off with the strut uncompressed so now you have to reinstall it so that you can take the nut off(if you dont have impact tools). Now you can reinstall the suspension into the car. 1 corner at a time. Vs coilovers where you remove strut and spring assembly and just bolt the coilover setup directly in place. Adjust to desired height and you're good to go. Issues with springs range from bottoming out your shocks or completely ruining tires since most cars dont have proper camber adjustments on them anymore for some dumb reason. The first will have your car jacked up again to replace struts(entire repeat of previous install process within a year or 2) Coilovers usually have all these adjustments built in so you can totally dial in your suspension setup. Coilover are usually a bit of a rougher ride due to them just being overall more rigid than the stock strut setup. HOWEVER a good coilover has dampening adjustments as well as spring rate adjustments in some cases. I have NEVER heard bad things about coilovers themselves as an item. Just issues with certain brands quality.
