Short shifter kit question

The short shifter kit says it'll take just about any aftermarket shift knob, but my question is if the OZ knob still fits on it? I haven't looked into how the knob's mounted, but is there something wrong with using the OZ knob on the short shifter kit?

The OZ knob will thread, but it's too tall. If you want to get really creative with the boot and a sewing machine, you may be able to make it work... But it will not fit otherwise.

So you're saying the threads on the shifter kit's lever don't go down far enough? I don't understand how that necessarily keeps it from working unless it's just really loose.

The thread is the right size, but the collar on the shift knob is too tall... It interferes with the plastic ring on the shift boot. In other words, the knob "bottoms out" on the boot collar before the threads on the shifter engage the knob.

Does the B&M Shifter install from inside the car or do you have to install it from underneath the car?

There are at least two different B&M's that fit. Mine is different from another I've seen. If I get the chance I'll take my car apart and post pics sometime. If anyone has a pic of their out of the box (just the shifter itself) I bet we'd see a couple different ones.

Yeah...if I can ever unlock my garage (long story, but the short of it is there's a broken lock and I don't wanna kick the door in again) I'll check my part#. Looks different than mine though I can tell you that much.

A forum vendor...I wanna say CACreations, but I don't remember. Anyway, it fits fine. No problems with it whatsoever and it's the right application, just bent differently. When I get the opportunity (it may be a few weeks) I'll try to grab a pic of it.

Thumbs up Bowel & Movement Shift Knob

I stuck a Lite Glo neon shift knob on mine but it cracked on the first shift, so I taped it, but it was lame, so I just stuck the B&M shift knob on there, but I think I want a different one now...
