honestly best bet is if u can find a wrecked manual lancer for roughly a grand and take eveythign out of that, cause you will need alot of items, from the ecu, all the pedals, the clutch lines, tranny, center console and more. so i recommend finding a wreck manual lancer to get everything u need. And if you can install everythign yourself or know someone who can then it will definally be the cheapest way.. i ended up with the same problem with my old 02 oz, but i ended up upgrading to my ralliart lost money in the deal but it was definally worth it and i'm now in the process of building it up now.

or you can spend 10 g's and get an evo (either 4-8) engine which will convert you to manual and that includes all trannie work and labor and what not

i'd say just buy a used stick lancer and convert all ur mods over.....then sell ur auto lancer after putting the stock stuff on from the manual.

unbelievable. nobody wants to mess with an auto, they just assume its a handicap they have to live with. you don't see 1g or 2g dsm or supra guys complaining about having an auto, do you? of course not cause they know with a little money they can school the manuals.

for the money you'd spend on swapping over to manual, you could upgrade the auto to be a real monster and outperform most manuals out there.

this has been discussed numerous times and with little actual results...

well, i plan on changing all of that in a few months with my complete auto tranny overhaul. hopefully i'll get a torque converter with stall of about 3k for some boosted launches

yeah, a torque convertor, an manumatic, or sporttronic (i might have that name wrong) installed can make an auto worthy of having. if i remeber right, the auto shift times, stock, are faster than the manual shift times, that being said of the "average" person shifting and no short shifter installed. yeah, a manual is cool, cuz you get to know what gear your in, and the rpm range and hp a gear can operate and be used in. i like that, but once i get the money i will upgrade my "useless" auto. its really not bad, like green said, the 1g-2g dsm's and the supra auto's, once built up, are bad ***! plus, you can shift from the steering wheel, allowing wheel controll at all times. safety is a plus.

One correction. The auto tranny does well for WRX's and Supras, not DSM. I have not confirmed auto LS1 GM cars can do better than manual.

There is a shift kit for the G93 that was adapted from a DSM application. I have to ask the person. It's something similar to classic domestic muscle cars.

I dunno, i've seen relative sucess with auto dsm's (i believe a few in the 10's and what not). not saying its the superior option as it is in supra's, but i don't think anyone would complain about having an auto dsm
