Race clutch is definitely overdoing it. Just get a stage 2 clutch from RRM, WORKS or any other clutch manufacturer/distributor.

I agree with both of the above posts... race is too much clutch unless it's a dedicated racecar. Works or Zoom is my personal choice.

Advise--> if you decide to go with a race clutch, stick with the 6 puck disc...the 4 puck will be way to agressive...however; both are overdoing it. WORKS, ACT, and ZOOM have pretty good street clutches out there. personaly, i'm running an ACT stage II clutch and i have no complaints; never slips, not to much on the leg, and holds up well when i decide to shift hard.

im not that knowledgable about transmission stuff, but this caught my eye because i remember a friend getting a new clutch after he destroyed his. . .it was an ACT , but i dont remember what the details were. my question would be, what exactly would be the side effects of getting a clutch that is too aggresive? is it just hard to drive? or is it bad on the tranny or what?

I can't see an aggressive clutch being bad for the car, it's just bad for the driver. Generally an aggressive clutch has a very stiff pedal feel and very quick engagement which means it's difficult to just inch forward and do slow and gentle starts like you would in daily driving.

Agreed. The last side effect is that it makes the muscle in your left leg a lot bigger.

The Zoom Stage 2, which I have, is overkill for the street. It's a good clutch, just overkill. Also, there is no such thing as inching foward in traffic with this clutch.
