Since I did the swap in my mirage with 4g94 engine and tranny, I'm not sure if I have stock shifter. How does a stock shifter moves. My throws are pretty long but from side to side it takes little effort. Maybe it's an ebay shifter???

the rpw short shifter is a good unit
it decreases the up down movement by approx 50%
but also because its a full unit not just the stick they have modified it to have a shorter side to side shift.

Now I'm asking about atock shifter. Does it take little effort to move it from side to side in stock shifter?

I got a BM short shifter and i love it, reduces a lot you can feel the difference and it improves your shifting.

mine was definitely pretty stiff until i put in synthetic tranny oil. i've also got linkage bushings. dunno how i feel about the counterwieght. i would probably like it more if i had the stock shifter but it works well enough

I agree, I have the B&M for the '96 Eclipse (Same Tranny) and I Love It!
Its also a bit tighter and less floppy which is nice.

I've gone through like 5 shift knobs in my car. First I had the stock knob, then, I had some universal piece of crap that lasted a whole month or so, then the kartboy knob, then the greddy long shift knob and now I have the stock evo knob and it is by far my favorite. It fits my hand perfectly and it has a nice balance between ease of use and stiff shifts.

yes it does, I like it very much running at 45% altought sometimes its hard to shift.
i guess if you want to flexibility the B&M gives you 25% and 45% and if you dont care about that then the non-adjustable I think give you 35%...

I will try the 25% reduction though on my car this week... and see if 35% if a good comprimise. I maybe selling my SS in that case to keep an eye out.

Is it necessary to run 2pc & 8pc stiff bushings shifter for Authority EVO Short Shifter? If yes, do I need all of them?

yes you need all of them, 4 go on the bottom and 4 on the top and then you put the crew thought the top.. I havent installed mine yet (under the hood 2pc)

you dont need them but it supposed to make things "nicer"

To be honest the base bushings don't do a whole lot. The underhood bushings are by far a better buy, they stiffen up and "clean up" the shifter's movement.
