short shifter quick question

ok, quick question, quick answer i hope. i just got my first lancer('06 OZ) a week ago and i want to get a short shifter for it. was on lancershop.com and there is a Perrin one i want, but it only mentions fitting evo III 03-05. will this still fit my car? or are the shifter set ups different between models? ok, so maybe the question was a little bit lengthy lol

I won't, don't try...get the one that specifically is for the non-turbo lancer.

It will still fit. The shifter assembly is the same in the Evo as in our Lancers, and never changed between the '05 and the '06.

I won't say anything against that stmt since I don't have a 5-sp Lancer and haven't looked at them in depth...but wouldn't the text in each description of the shifters say for both the non-Evo Lancer and the Evolution? Just wondering.

You would think so but they're all the same. The only shifter assembly that's different is the MR because it's 6-speed. But the short shifter I installed in mine was for the Evo and it was a direct fitment.

^Well, that's good to know...but to be safe, call and ask the retailer before you purchase!

yea, i see no reason why they'd be different, but i'll call the company before buying it.

if you're ordering from lancershop why not just get the authority shifter? it's the most inexpensive one and it definitely does fit our car.

i like the fact that the perrin shifter has a bend at the top, it's able to be rotated 360 degrees so i can have the knob where i want it. i'm willing to pay the extra $100 for this feature, let alone the perrin shifter is probably a better quality make anyway.
