car not starting after clutch install
well i just recently changed my clutch out (finally) and now for some reason it wont start!
whenever i turn the key, it turns, but really slow as if the battery was dead. i checked the voltage with a multimeter and its putting out 11.9v. itll turn slowly for about 5 sec then stop and everything shuts off. the only thing i did with the starter is unbolt it from the bellhousing when i removed the tranny. i put everything back together step by step per spec. any help, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just as a precautionary thing, have you tried hooking jumper cables to it and seeing if it is the battery, sometimes a battery may test good sitting, but did you test it while cranking to see what the voltage drops to?

not yet...i will however try that once my roomate gets back
Sounds like a simple elctrical issues whether it be dirty connection at the battery or loose ground, or dead battery. Let us know if jumpstarting works

How old is the battery? One usually needs about 13 volts to effectively start it. Remove cables, clean really well with baking soda on the terminals and the posts, reconnect and try again.

, and 02modlanceroz is right its all about cranking amps or cold cranking amps primarily.

well today was no luck...tried jumping the car, still same issue, so we ruled out the battery...i disconnected the starter so i can visibly see if it spins and it does with no problems...reconnected it and it does the noted symptoms...starter ruled out...its down to takin out the tranny once again and seeing whats goin on in there...if no luck then off to the shop
You can try to pull all the spark plugs, put the car in gear and try to rolll it forward and backwards. It should move freely like if it was in neutral if you have the plugs out (no compression stopping you) if it feels like its binding or hard to move then could be something with the installation. Only roll the car forwards in a forward gear and backwards in reverse to prevent turning the engine backwards.

is the transmission in neutral when you're starting? maybe your clutch isn't disengaging...to me it sounds like your slave/TOB isn't working properly, and theres too much load on the flywheel for the starter to crank...just a thought, most other possibilities have been covered...thing is with the 4G94 is you can't really see the clutch release (slave) cylinder actually working...did you bleed the master/slave properly after installing?

Only thing there is that even if your clutch wasnt working properly and if the install was correct and everything else was fine that shouldnt hinder starting. Last time my slave blew completely with no pressure on the clutch pedal I could still start the car in neutral just fine I just couldnt go anywhere lol. If the car wasnt completely in neutral I imagine the car would jerk when trying to start it.

i leave mine parked in gear, and start in gear...
