I have a 2003 OZ Rally Edition (Manuel) that’s in real good shape and work done into the appearance from previous owner. I’m doing an engine swap with a 2.4L motor out of a 2005 lancer ralliart (Auto). Got the car for a good price so I took it. I’m rebuilding my gear box in the 2003. I learned that between the two cars the Manuel transmission have different part numbers. The 2003 has the F5M42 and the 2005 has the W5M51 but they both have the same automatic transmission. So the only thing I could think on is that the gear ratio must be a bit different between the two Manuel transmissions. I was fine with this and started buying the things I need and started to rebuild my gearbox. I figured out after about the bellhousing and that mine won’t work. Looked at the 2005 and noticed the started is in the front and not in the back like the 2003. This really sets me back as I don’t know if I will be able to get a bellhousing for it, but then I was thinking, will a bellhousing from the automatic work with gearbox/Manuel I have? The bolt pattern should be the same just don’t know whats in the bellhousing that could make it different. Please help
