Hi all, I have a 2008 1.5l petrol Lancer. My gearstick does not go into neutral by itself. It stays to the left or right.
I thought it was a shifter centering spring and pulled the whole center console to find there wasnt one on the shifter/gearstick. I went to a scrapyard to find that they dont come with one like other cars or models.

Next I took the linkages off in the engine bay, ontop of gearbox, and removed the selector thing, but couldnt see anything noticable, all works fine. I lubed it all up.

I have also changed the gear oil. Im struggling to find info on this. Any help would be appreciated. The gears also feel kind of stiff to get into sometimes. Its currently at a garage but havent heard anything yet, they dont think its a gearbox issue.
Im only on 90000 ish miles.
