rrm header

i have two problems:

1. first my servie engine light is on now after the header install.
is this normal and if it is then how can i fix it?

2. my exhaust makes a sputtering noise of some sort. it is like
when you hold your lips together and blow. is this normal
and how can i get rid of it?

the cel is normal, you need to get a MIL eliminator to get rid of it.
as for the sputtering, does it come from near the headers or from the exhaust pipe?

Both of those symptoms are completely normal and expected with any header.

Remember, you just removed the first catalytic converter!

Get a MIL Eliminator and you should be fine!

The sputtering sound would be a result of less back pressure wouldn't it?

How is the mil eliminator installed, does it screw in between the header and O2 sensor?

It looks like a transformer with a couple wires coming out of both sides. You wire it into the second O2 sensor wiring.

Dou you tap into the wiring under the car or somewhere inside?

under the hood, on the first cat that goes into the header.

Anyway, which one is first and which one is the second cat?

I always thought that the first cat is under the hood and the second cat is underneath, before the resonator (test pipe replaces second cat, right?)

right...first cat is in the header, second is before resonator. You wire the MIL right into the SECOND O2 sensor. What is does is send back a reading that all exhaust readings are ok regardless of what is really flowing thru the sensor.

its coming from the exhaust i think. well my friend thinks its because of the different size of the pipes. since i am getting the turbo soon, i was wondering if i go to a muffler shop what size pipes i should get? and to pass emissions would i need to keep just the second cat?

hey i know this doesnt answer the question and all... but I was wondering bout the smoke coming out the exhaust??? a lot or none or what... was thinking bout the header and test pipe but with no cat, i was afraid there would be some really nasty smoke pouring out back there

Normal stuff for a header. When you get your turbo in a week, noise will go away. It will quiet down and go a lot faster!!!
