Question Headlight alignment question.

So I installed some xenon bulbs in my Lancer, like everyone else. When I was showin them off to a friend, she pointed out that the right (passenger side) seemed to be shining higher. I'm not sure if I knocked the alignment off or what, but I think I remember reading somewhere that that's how the Lancer lights are, since it doesn't have seperate high and low bulbs, just one bulb that can drink more juice.

Has anyone else noticed one beam being higher than the other? Or does anyone know how to adjust them?

Thanks in advance.

if im not mistaken, the driver side should always be lower than the passenger side so people driving towards you dont get blinded. i dont think that the difference should be that much tho.

OK. Now I'm all kinds of confused. Maybe its my driver's side that's higher. I thought the passenger's side was supposed to be higher, so you didn't have high beams in the rear view of those in front of you???

on my thought. maybe one of your light bulb is bad. when you look at it directly from faraway, does one of the headlight seem dimmer? if so return them! if it light alignment problem, get a flat head screwdriver and there is a spot for you to twist and align the light. your owner manual help a lil bit.

if the driver side is higher, definately get them re-aligned. this will be very dangerous for on coming traffic.

I don't think there is anyway to align the headlights. The manual says to take it to to get it adjusted...

My car does the same thing I thought it was the bulb. I had to take the hole housing out because I dropped the dang bulb in there when I initially installed. The lights look off level now.

I had the same problem, I parked in front of a wall and adjusted the passenger side bulb until it matched the driverside bulb. it was a pain in the *** considering I have paws for hands, very large paws

your left light (driver side) will apear not as bright if you are looking at it in the reflection off the car infront of you. That light is angled down a few more degrees than the other so as not to blind oncoming traffic. If you look at them from outside the car, they should be relatively the same...also make sure you upgrade your wiring harness, as anything over the stock 65 watts will gradually fry the connectors.

At the risk of getting annoying, I'm still going to ask:

Does anyone have detailed intrsuctions of how to align the headlights, or know a site that does for Mitsubishi cars?

I was wondering the same question, after I got my car back from the body shop I noticed that the headlights are WAY off...the passenger points way too high and the driver side points maybe 3 feet in front of the car. I would also like to know how you can adjust them on your own

I just recently got some great bulbs... noticed the same thing, so, I did go park facing a wall, and adjusted.... and now perfectly even.
