If you have any trouble i believe that Mitsubishi covers the paint for like 3yrs, no biggie people, just take it back and make them fix it. hehe

I agree with KTR....from what i understand, the paint is covered, as long as you are the original owner, for 3 years....All that warranty bruhaha is in the owners manual

Chipping is not covered as I found out after talking to about ten different people i have one more person to see. MITS REP. also rust is not covered either if it is from chipping. cause all they will say is "it is because of rock chips". and rock chips are not covered. My problem tho was that it was bubbling and it's not only on the front of car but it on the back right next the the wing. And of course they said well that is from a rock chip and there is nothing we can do about it. I am so madd i have two huge rust spots on my hood already. I meet with the rep on the 18th or the 19th of march.

If that fails i guess i'm just going to have to buy a cf hood.

the coating is def pretty thin, i noticed the first day i got my car that there were minor marks on it but it didnt bother me, plus some of you might clean your windows/rims with special cleaners which arent made for the paint on your car, you might be doing it yourself and not noticing it :\ i doubt it though, just depends on how harsh some of those cleaners are

Side skirts already been repainted on my yellow oz too. Paint is falling off again. The dealer swears I am the only owner from that dealership with that problem. I used the touchup paint on the skirts for now and it seems to be holding up better than the repaint they already did. No green here. My sisters hair gets kinda green from using sh!tty water, maybe you guys have water issues.

Its a jap econo-buster. Not a 12 coat Sikkens factory painted Benz like mine. I'm not bragging - just telling the truth. Oh yhea - my Benz has a new rock chip on it every day! Thats life! Get over it. Quit tailgating Honda civics & post something cool next time?

EVO'S have aluminum hoods - no rust...!!!
EVO'S are cool w/ rock chips - they give the car character
EVO'S look cool w/ mud & rock chips all over 'em - Thats what they were made for. MY $.05

All I've had is a small chip on the rim of the wheel well. There's a good chance that is a rock chip but it doesnt look like one...its about an inch long.

beware of the birds

My dealer told me that you have to be careful about birds poo-pooing on your car especially if yours is yellow, he said that the toxins in bird droopings can cause serious paint chipping. He said to make sure that you wash it off within 24 hours or it could become a problem and that it is not covered under warrenty.

That's the reply of the day

An evo with huge mudflaps, steel underbody plates, rock chips everywhere looks like you used it in the gravel roads as this car was designed to be used

And as for anything you buy, it's the first chip that's hard to swallow, after that you care less. Each time I get a new snowboard I almost cry when I get the first chip, but now it's full of dents and such and I use it on rails, I don't care anymore, every item we buy needs to be used
