Pcv

The hose on my PCV has developed an oily residue on the outside of the hose, but only the length of the valve. When I first noticed this, I bought a new valve from Mitsu, and a new hose. The residue came back within a week. Is this condition normal, and if not, what causes it?

No, it's on the outside of the hose-like it saturated through. What wouldn't be tightened since there are no clamps on that hose?

I would say clean the area, have a friend rev the engine, and look to see whats going on. Also, check your oil level. Never heard of anything like this before. These are the only 2 things I would say is wrong with it.

mine does this too, replace pcv valve and it still leaks. Its def not the head gasket cause like he said it is only on the outside of the hose.

I ran into another guy who works on my base here and his 03 OZ does the exact same thing. Still seems weird that oil would accumulate on the OUTSIDE of the hose, but I guess it's "normal" enough that a few of us have it.

I think its just leaking out where the hose connects, and its just kind of blowing the oil slowly down the line. Thats the only explanation I can think of

Are you sure it's not just road grime?
