Need more help-ASAP

Man I just keep having problems after problems. Here is my problem now. I installed my radio and nothing is working correctly now. I think it may be my alarm because it is not working correctly and I think the alarm may be tied into some other things. Anyone have an idea.

Have you checked your fuses? The radio fuse/alarm fuse is in the engine compartment. I just installed some alarm modules and same thing happened to me. Everything went dead. No dome light, door chime, clock, radio, alarm. Nothing. Turned out to be a blow fuse for radio in engine fuse box. Replaced it and viola - everything works perfectly.

All fuses in engine compartment are good. I think it may be my alarm because when the car is off the door locks do not work but when it is on they do work.

Also every time I turn the car off then back on my trip resets itself so something is really wrong.

sounds as if you are interrupting the primary power wire coming into the ignition, you need to be on the side from the ignition toward the starter. That is if you have a starter kill connected. Do you have a multimeter?

The reason I think it may be the alarm is because I have remote start on my car. But it was working fine early today when I drove it. I changed spark plugs which would not have an effect on it and installed a radio. I even tried to put the stock radio back in and nothing.

it seems that every thread that you start is about a problem with your car. you should really have a professional do installs for you. some fuse is out, when i had subs i went to recnnect the amp, and connected the battery wire first, and blew a fuse. neither the stereo nor the clock worked. i believe that it should be one from the drivers side fuse box.

I did have a professional install my alarm. This is about the 5th radio ive installed with no problems and now im having a problem. It is not my fault that the lancer doesnt seem to be a very good car when it comes to mods. Im just trying to get my car running back like it should. My fuse box on the drives side behind the litle compartment that pulls out has a fuse blocker were the radio fuse should go so can not really put a fuse there.

Thanks for your kind words.

i've blown 3 head units and still don't blame it on my lancer! it's not the car man. you need to pay more attention when you are moding your ride..i blew head units cause i was being stupid by either playing them to loud or miswiring one...it was never the lancer fault

I have not even moded my ride much. Ive installed a muffler lost gas mileage not sure how that happened. I installed new spark plugs and the car doesnt idel correctly. The negative battery cable can't be removed by unscrewing it because the bolt just turns and nothing to stop it. I wired up the headunit correctly as I can color match and I checked before hooking up but that would not have an effect on the clock, dome light, door ding not working and all fuses are good. So it may be an alarm malfunction.

Here is what has happened. When my car is on I have power to everything excpet the radio, clock, dome light, door dinging. When I turn it off I have no power to the door locks or dome light. When I start my car back up my trip has reset itself. As we see I have not done any moding really and the car does not take it well.

if it is causing so many problems, then why dont you just sell it? take it to the dealership and have them look at all your problems. they are trained to work on cars and do maintenance, it really shouldnt cost much. if no one here can help you then take it to the dealership, i guarentee they can.
