egr valve

What are the ways to test if an egr valve is working prop. thanks

if it's not working you will probably get a CEL and when you read the code it will be about the EGR valve... if it's really FGFU this will probably be how you will find out.

get a vacuum pump, Tee it up to the hose going to the egr valve from egr solenoid. if the car starts to choke after vacuum has been applied, it's working properly.

From: Wash. Heights, NYC but now in Miami
I also got a CEL and the code was "insufficient EGR Flow." What can i do to fix this without having to go to a shop????

check your hoses... you may just have to replace the EGR valve.

P/N: 4F1226, brand is "airtex". about $140... ugh.
