Serious power loss?
So my story goes as follows. I was driving on base the other day and a woman cut me off and had to lock up the brakes. (Very good stopping power if you havent experienced it yet) anyway, for the next couple of minutes, the car drove fine. All of the sudden the rpms began flucuating seriously between 500 and 2,000. It felt almost like the tranny was about to take a dump. The car lost almost all power and felt like a 5speed does when the clutch goes bad. Alot of throttle and no go. Trying to see if anyone else has had the same problem. The problem remedied itself after about 20 minutes and cycling the cars ignition. Its a GTS CVT with RRM Exhaust. Appreciate the help
AH HA, some one else has the same problem!!!!! Did you find out what it was? Did you get it fixed??
I have the same problem - I call it LIMP MODE. Do a searcha nd find what Ive written about. I must find out what the hell it is.

i`m having a problem with my lancer cvt its when i start stoping the car stars vibrating and lossing power like it want to turn off but when i make the full stop it come back to life but the rives go from the bar after 0 to almost 850 i dont get it and when i hit tha gas just a little it wont move i have to give it a little more just to get going and i have had it for like a month and it has 1800 miles and also dose anybody know if doing a tb ground (throttle body ground) will damge or do anything to the car cuz my friend did it on his mazda 3 to remove static from the intake header for more reaction but i dont wanna do it on mine cuz i dont know if it would damage the ecu since the throttle is controled with it and not a cable
It makes for a great story, and i beleive you. but if you guys dont show a video its going to be even harder to convince your dealer there is a problem. if you can document it early, they will have no reason to give you problems later under warranty work.
a flux between 500 and 2000 RPM is alot and i would love to see the needle moving that far up and down.
My only problem is getting the car to get above 2500 RPM. Its as if it just doesnt want to move above 2500 RPM. makes it sound like a grass cutter motor in the low RPM.
Hey Blacksheep you got the intake in there. inside the car doesnt the low low end sound like a lawnmower?
