Audio Enhance on and off
anyone know how to turn off the feature of the upgrade RF system where its suppost to detect road noise and boost the sound.
the friggin thing i swear is boosting and normal boost again normal and its annoying. at first i thought it was just the radio station but its my cds too.
Anyone notice this
try turning it down low while coasting maybe 15 volume, and listen to the radio and see if it comes in and volumes out every so often.

If you have the nav, press set, then press the top middle button which should be Audio something, then the very top button is audio controls in that window is all the faders and equalizers and crap. at the very bottom of that screen is the "EQ and Auto Volume Management on/off" button..
there ya go
there ya go

which sucksI will keep digging around, but i still dont see anything
But thanks for trying
Hold down the knob that you press to adjust the EQ and other settings for a couple seconds.
You can turn off the SCV, but it's most likely the stereo itself. The head unit right now has issues that Mitsubishi's engineers are trying to correct, mostly with FM reception.

Again, it is not necessarily the SCV. That may fix his problem, but it may not. It's obviously the first thing to try, but if that doesn't fix it, it's due to the unit's flawed design.
The dealer replaced my head unit with a prototype because of volume swings, almost exclusively while listening to stereo FM stations. I have the service bill to prove it. The new unit is improved, but still not perfect. Last I heard, they were going to try to keep improving the unit because the problems extend to the Outlanders too.

Yeah, try turning off the SCV as mentioned above, because if it's CDs too, that's what your problem is.
The FM radio thing is something that is wrong with almost all the lancers, because it happened to mine, and when I took it in, they said there was no fix out for it yet, but it was a common problem.

I suppose I could start the free trial that came with the car, but that's why I have an iPod...
Your iPod thing actually works? My dealership is retarded, and when I ordered the $50 connection cable, they gave me the one for the ES and DE (the GTS comes with one that uses regular audio jacks, as you know) so I had to return that to them after they assured me is was the right one for my car. Then, they went to the store, since Mitsubisihi doesn't make that part, and got me a $20 cable, when I paid 50. BOGUS. So, I bit the bullet, plugged it in, and low and behold, the damn white port is too small, so the jack doesn't even stay in when I try to play it, so it fades in and out and is all staticy...what a hassle.

$20 cable from Circuit City plugs right in and works.
I got screwed then. I have a cable, and nothing it wrong with that, it's the actual part in the car that is messed up. What a pain. I'm kind of sick of driving back and forth to my dealership to get dicked around.

thanks i forgot to mention i found it after DohBoy's post, after about 30 minutes of looking at it. And said if i was the engineer and i was fixing engineer number 1's idea, where would i put that option. jokes..
but thanks.
Ya reception is an issue, but its funny, I never have a damn problem tuning into Classical music stations, *which i never listen to much. But all the good urban stuff is crap.
As for their SCV or what ever that sound enhancement thing is called, it really needs to be fixed, I really cant figure out what the hell its trying to counter act. Some times the road is flat and level and fresh paved, some times its crap, sometimes i a moving 15km an hour, its always adjusting.
grrrr
oh well, fixed most of the problems. I am replacing my stereo shortly, as soon as I figure what wire goes where, I am going to create a harness and shove a real system right below it. So that i still have my Bluetooth stuff.
But I still am not sure if i am going to bother. I just wish they had the NAVI option in Canada.
