Question ?Removing Passenger Side Airbag? US OZ Model

Have any of you removed the US Lancer OZ model passenger side airbag?

This is something that I need to remove. Now I know the very quick way of getting rid of the airbag, although it is not recommended to go crash your Lancer.

Any tips on this would be appreciated. I spoke with a Service in my area about this and they said that because of safety reasons they do not remove airbags. My problem is that because of safety reasons I need to remove the airbag. If I don't and when the airbag is ever deployed during a crash a 15" lcd monitor is going to slam into someone and most likely rip right thru them. Which is a bad because then I'd have to get a new monitor <doh> I mean it would be bad for the person sitting there.

I wouldn't remove it yourself, you'll probably set it off. Take it to a garage that does shady **** like that.

yeah and if you dont have it in an accident your passenger will smashinto the monitor anyways so either way you need a monitor i do understand why you want it out though. umm i am sure someone has the answer but i think you need to do it the the battery unplugged else i think it will fire.

A buddy of mine had his taken out of his saturn because he put a PS2 on in the dash. He had a local import tuning shop or whatever you wanna call it do it. I dont think it cost much either.
