How to Rid the CEL....so far..

Alright, well I have had my CEL on for aobut 2 months or so now..after getting my kamikaze header, and have now come across a way to rid of it...i also have a test pipe also, so basically i have no cats..I'm not sure if this will work on all header brands, but what happened was that today my friend in his spec-v, was looking up tech solutions to rid the CEL after removal of 1st cat, and he found this solution,(this is supposed to bring up error codes or somethin) but newayz..here were the steps

1)Turn key on to power, but do not start engine...then wait 3 seconds
2)Step on gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds.....then wait 7 seconds
3)Hold gas pedal down for about 10 seconds...

This should get rid of the CEL, it did it to mine when i tried it today, and has not come back on after driving all day,

So see if this works on your car, and specify what header you have, to see if it's only a certain type or not

doesn't hurt to try

Wow that's really cool if that works! I'll have to try it after I get my headers!

Wouldn't that flood the engine?

With the car only on the power, not with the engine running...

I wouldn't think so. Pressing the gas pedal a few times with the engine off shouldn't hurt it. Obviously it hasnt hurt bl2k2's... yet.. hehe

well....it worked for me...so it does work...but maybe it was just a coincidence of pressing the pedal differently or somethin...but all i know is that it went off and has stayed off till this day

Untill someone else says it work Im waving the BS flag. I tried it numerous times now, nothing. Im willing to bet your CEL was on for a different reason than the header and this procedure knocked it off. The header CEL the first time took months(you said yours has been on for 2 but how long before it came on) to come on second time like 400+ miles. So it isnt instantaneous. Wait and see I guess.
