Problems RPM Stayin Up

Hey Fam,
I have a 2002 Lancer with about 55 miles on it. Recently I've been having troubles during idle or when my car is not in gear. During idle, my RPM fluctuates between 0thou and 1thou RPM and I have instances when my car practically dies out unless I give the gas pedal a few revs. Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Thanks

Have you changed the spark plugs or cleaned the injectors recently?

With only 55 miles on it, I'd say it needs to be driven more! LOL

i doubt it's your plugs they usually dont affect idle that much,it could be you idle control valve...

After this started happening, I did change my spark plugs and went through a bottle of fuel injection cleaner and still to no avail .. bluebyu36, you suggested that it might be my 'idle control valve'. I'll go ahead and do a little research on that, but if you can, expand more on what exactly that valve does and it's function. Thanks
