so on my way to work yesterday and i hear a rather loud clank noise under my car, so i pull over and notice the CAI to be hanging rather lower than usual so i take a gander at it and BLAM big hole, that was where the hanger was. I am contacting aem cause that shouldnt happen i have had it for 4 years so this sucks

Just cut it and re install your filter..

 

Hangar welds are common failure points on CAIs. They'll probably replace it, but you may have to jump through some hoops. Sometimes AEM is really easy to deal with in my experience. Other times...not so much.

 

so i contacted aem explained the situation and said to email a picture of the damage and the copy of my receipt so i will update the situation when i can

 

SOOOOOOO update i get a call from AEM a few weeks ago and this chick who was just promoted was calling to see if i had received my new piece . so i said no as i had been really busy and that i had no time to send back the old so she says i have a picture here of it and like you said its a big ****ing hole in it LOL. So she confirmed my addy and sent it out and now its on and im happy YEA for AEM
