Convert to LEDs

I have an 03 ES. I would like to swap out all of the exterior lights to LED. Has anyone actually done this, yet? I know there are a bunch of threads on this, but they all seem hypothetical (you MAY need shunt resistors, you MAY have rapid flashing lights, lights MAY not flash at all, etc.). I'm interested in the experiences others have had and the trials and tribulations involved.

i also think that the lights would go faster.........
because have you ever noticed that when a bulb go's out thats a blinker they go faster.its because less energy was used ...........
so with led's they take less energy to power then
thus they would prob also blink faster......

What's wrong with our conventional bulbs?

Nothing's "wrong" with conventional bulbs. I prefer the look of LED's and how quickly and cleanly they light up and extinguish.

i have converted my turn signals and brake lights to LEDs. You are going to need resistors for the turn signals. 3 ohm if you are doing the front and rear. 6 ohm if just the front or rear. For the brake lights if you have the OZ wing with the LEDs already in it you will need a resistor inline of one of the brake lights or you will get voltage bleed and the wing lights will light up dimly and burn them out. A 25 ohm resistor in one of the taillights will take care of that problem.

Do you have Cedia Headlights? If so do not replace the marker lights with standard LEDs. You will need heavy duty LEDs that can withstand high temps. I made that mistake.

One more thing. Remember to match the LEDs to the lenses they will shine through. In other words do not get white LEDs for use in a red lens. Red LEDs for a red lens, amber LEDs for amber lenses. Do not use white LEDs for anything other then clear lenses. The do not shine as bright through colored lenses as the colored LEDs do.

I recomend spider lights from autoluminations.

Thanks for the info. One thing I am confused on is whether it is a 3 ohm resistor per light or just one for the front and one for the back? Do you have pictures of your installed resistors?
