Lancer Recall Notice

I got a recall notice in the mail yesterday, and was wondering if anyone else also has gotten one. I called the dealer and they said it was something with the back door not opening sometimes, although I have never had a problem with it. So, I took it up there and they said they fixed it. Does anyone know EXACTLY what was wrong, and what they did?

Yup, this is old news.

My understanding of the actual details is that it's a "Rear Door Window Sash Replacement" - the problematic part was causing the doors to fly open in the event of an accident.

It's TSB SC-07-003 if you want to look at it online. They have the step-by-step directions for staff.

Great... more TSB's just when I got my car back today. Well, I guess I'll mention it to them when I get an oil change.

Where can I look up a list of these TSB's? I want to print them out and take them down to the dealership to see how they can address them...

no not "fly off", "fly open" as in if your car was hit really hard the rear doors could open causing someone to fly out or something along those lines. basically when hit hard the doors should stay shut and i guess they didn't so they fixed the problem. but yeah i had mine done way back in july so that should of been done a while ago. but yes where can i find an updated list of this stuff? i've heard there should be or has been a recall for some relays which cause the car to not start when the ignition is turned because of moisture or something getting into them. i have had this problem also many times and am very interested in going to the dealer to get it taken care of or at least have them put the order in for the relays because ive heard they are backordered in the US or something. anybody know any more on this or any other TSBs?

Well here's one that I found:
http://www.mitsubishiforum.com/recal...sbs/browse.htm
Just google it and you'll find a TSB site. As for the relay, it's not a TSB because they're not sure if that is what is causing the problem. They think it may have to do with the way the exhaust was made. Something to do with water getting stuck in the pipe and causing the car not to start. My service manager told me that before I turn my car off I should give it some gas to see if I can blow out the water that's left in the pipe. Not sure if it works or not because they also replaced the relay and it's only been about two weeks.

AllData, if you can get access. My work has a subscription, but I don't know about your local library.

Who knows. Maybe I heard wrong. Seems like anyone at will just say any random thing that comes to mind.

We already have a massive thread because one guy's dealership told him there'd be a made turbo kit for the 08s...

Wow, I wish my service manager was that knowledgeable (or at least have an idea of what's wrong with the car). Mine just says "We really don't know what's causing it!" and just hands the keys back to me. I'm also gonna try that advice he gave you cuz I had an awful no-start problem last week (it wouldn't even crank, but they just put in the modified relays in there).

Also, the relay problem does have a TSB. I had it printed out too, got it off another Mitsu forum.
