Talking Water in GTS spoiler

I know this has been a previous thread months ago. But when I put some dynomat into my trunk lid I went to close it and heard what sounded like a loose bolt in a coffee can.

I opened and closed the trunk a few times thinking I may have jarred something loose, but after 10 seconds of actually using my brain:

IT WAS ICE CUBES!

Yes, it was cold out and that water previously trapped in the spoiler has now turned to ice and broken apart. Well now all I have to do it go to the dealership on a very cold day and let them hear the jingle.

Who knows maybe there is a tsb for this now.

i thought it was amusing.

Still haven't gone to the dealer...its such a pain.. I am thinking its going to be easier to remove the spoiler and see for myself. Plus it won't be a bad idea to remove it and clean out any crap stuck in between it and the trunk. Anyways I will let you know next week or so what the issue is... Bear with me.

Um, good luck removing the spoiler. After you remove the bolts/nuts, it's stuck to the trunk with adhesive...

^Yeah, if it's anything like the adhesive used under the Evo VIII spoiler, it'll take two men and careful prying.

Yeah, that was what I said. I wanted to see my car spoilerless, but I quickly abandoned that plan when I unbolted it and it didn't move...

My water in the spoiler problem has now turned into an ice in the spoiler problem. Whenever I open the trunk it sounds like somebody dumping ice cubes into a bucket

LOL... I've had this same problem too since winter started. I hear that same "clunk" when I close my trunk.

So how exactly does water get in there? Does Mitsu know about this yet?

I am not aware if mitsu knows this. I haven't had to time or the patience to take it to the dealer.
