Whistle/Whinning sound

I've noticed when I slow my car down, basically just before it comes to a stop and the RPM are lowering, I hear the engine make a whistle/whinning sound. Anyone else here noticed this sound, is it normal? I'm driving a CVT by the way

It does sound cool, I was just wondering if it was normal, I usually have the radio/CD player going so I only noticed it recently

i noticed that when im backing out of a parking spot. I like the way it sounds, almost like a turbine in a jet.

I've noticed it since the day i bought it...

I thought it was the intake.... when you press more gas it gets louder (engine trying to get more air in?)

You can hear it at any speed, its always there, you just gotta listen. lol

Yeah try driving on some quiet backroad with your windows down. Rev to about 2500RPM, and then lift off the throttle. You should be able to hear it as the speed reduces...

Well don't heard it myself.
But I remember my old sentra when I got a 'new rebuilt' alternator, it was praticly sounding like a turbine too when near stop ! (but it was a automa**** tough)
Maybe it can be this ?

My car makes a very faint whistle/whining sound briefly every time I let the RPMs drop (decelerating). I drive 5 speed GTS. I was thinking it could be the fuel pump?

I just noticed that tonight too!

Was driving home slow cause of the weather and decided to turn off the music for once and then I noticed the whistling sound.

My civic had a similar sound when I installed the CAI and it was due to a small leak.

My friend's Sentra whistled as well before and when he brought it to the dealer, it was a leak in the intake somewhere as well.
