Sound in the steering column - need help

Hi,

I took a small clip of my steering column when I am turning it. My engine is running and fully warmed up. I got new ps fluid and wheel are aligned and balanced, but a sudden turning of the steering wheel left or right produces a "tok" sound.

No sound can be heard outside even when the bonnet is opened. I even stuck my head inside for real - no kidding the wheels respond with ease during the sudden turn so no problem there.

I checked my boots and there were no leaks, no cracks. I checked the tie rod ends, no cracks on the ball joint, the toe-in toe-out adjust is also in good condition including the nuts.

Any idea what this is?

Worn u-joint in the steering column or intermediate shaft. Most likely the intermediate shaft.
