help with intake

i was just wondering how everyone install their intakes?? do you guys keep the sensor thingy(im sorry i dunno what it is) or just take it off altogether?? what i did was i screwed it on my filter and pluged it in. but when i plugged it in it chokes or something. then it dies. i try letting it idle so the computer can get use to it but it keeps dying. so i just unplugged it altogether. i dunno what's better. can someone help. also it's an auto and and es if that helps. thanks

never take off the MAS..that reads how much air is coming in and adjusted the fuel accordingly

here's a pic of my intake. it is the stock rubber elbow, then the MAS, then the intake filter.

yeah mine is on the right...does it also matter if its upside down??
so it's on the left now cuz i have it upside down...and also the check engine light shows...how can i get rid of that?? i mean i disconnected the negative and let it idle for 5 mins then it goes away...and comes back when i start the car again.

sounds like everyone else said. your mas is on backwards. The plug should be on the left and the top. like the picture above.

here is a pic of what you need. this one is metal, but you can also get plastic. i highly recommend you get the metal one cause the plastic could melt and get in your engine.

billy (Link286XT) installed mine, so you could pm him on where to get it, unless anyone else reading this knows where?
