timing belt replaced..or no?

I got my radiator replaced today $400. They also told me they arent really sure if my timing belt has been replaced or is due or what. bought it used, and i dont know if its ever been changed or not. mileage is 145,000. He said roughly at most it'd be $700ish,because he'd recommend doing waterpump at same time so that'd save on the labor. what should i do? If i wait until it goes bad, well thats mess..then again $700,when im already $4300 in credit card debt wouldnt help..

I know it's not what you want to hear, but you'd be wise to get your timing belt and water pump replaced. It's a small cost now to prevent an even larger cost down the road. This is especially true in that the engine has 145K on it and you don't know if/when the timing belt was last replaced.
