Need Help!

i drive a 2003 lancer es and the clutch went, i let the car sit for a week before bringing it to the shop, when i went to start it the check engine light came on and threw a P0340 (camshaft position sensor bank 1 circuit malfunction)...

So i changed the sensor and still the same code, only the drivers side of the motor is getting spark, i changed the coil and checked that all plug an coil wires were good and they were, still no spark on one side, so i changed the computer and it still didnt do notin and havin the same problem...

I brought it into the mechanic and it seems like he cant figure out what it is either, checked the MFI relay an the socket it goes into and its all good, but the socket beside the MFI rely is only throwin power on one terminal, is it supposed to do that?

any help or ideas would be much appreciated
thanx

Swap the coil packs and see if the misfire changes sides. Make sure you label your coilpacks before hand so you do not mix them up.

thanx, but that was one of the first things i did was check the coil packs...i did switch them around and both of them worked good on the drivers side of the motor, all the plug wires and the plugs are...what i dnt get, there is power to the coil pack were the clip plugs into it, it just wont spark on that side..

do you think maybe my engine blew up?

no your engin wuld not run if it wer blown or you would no when it is blown knocking and whining nasty stuff it might be somthing as simple as a bad ignition wire or the pack is just bad coils are expensive you should take it to autozone and have them diagnose it asap

you checked the packs, but did you switch out the plugs and wires and see if that effects anything?
