Stereo issue.

So I bought my car a few days ago and they said the speakers were blown. I went to the store and picked up some replacements for $40 and tried running them. No sound whatsoever out of the new speakers. One of the speakers in the car works and has since I bought it but the drivers side speaker and the rear speakers don't work even with the new speakers. Anyone have any Idea as to what this could be?

i would check the connections coming from the headunit. if the head unit is aftermarket, then they probably put tit in themselves and might have mushed it up back there. maybe they tried to tape the connections up and messed that up. check that out, post pics if needed and we shall go from there.

Hard to say without more info on the headunit being used and or if a amp is being used.

Sounds like your going to have to trace the wiring from each speakers not working and make sure none of the cables are severed or disconnected.

It could be as simple the cables are not plugged into the head unit if aftermarket as stated .

Good luck, Let us know.

so sorry i havent looked in a few days but I pulled the headunit and it turns out everything was fine back there....for the most part. some stuff was cut. but it wasnt just that. we traced the wires from the speakers and they were cut. and in their place I found an amp wiring kit. so it turns out they were trying to run a 2 front 2 sub layout. i had to rewire everythinggg. and make it work again. which took a few hours. Just goes to show you people are dumb.

Sometimes the most simplest things are usually always overlooked.

Glad you got it working. I cant live without my music and subs in general!
