Hissing sound from under rear of the car

Hello all

I have an 2010 GTS and about a month ago I went over a really nasty bump and I scraped pretty bad under the car (on the frame). Ever since this I noticed a hissing sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Some people said it may be an exhaust leak and I have read about it could possibly something with the fuel pump/line. The sound seems to have gotten more persistent sometimes it's continues and sometimes it does it twice in a row then stops then does again etc.The sound is also similar to a spray bottle. I'm gonna see if the dealer will take a look at it. I wanted to know if others have heard this noise or had similar problems and know of any solutions. Also has anybody had their battery leak from the accessory port on their GTS?

I actually have the same hissing sound on my 09 gts. I have an after market exhaust and idk if that has anything to do with it. But i know exactly what your talking about. I thought that it was just normal, just like the clicking noise that comes from the engine bay.

I have an '11 GTS and just last week I noticed a similar (if not the same) sound on my vehicle. I have a little over 14,000 miles on my car now. The only reason I noticed the sound is that I was listening for another sound (which I did find out what it was). I do have an aftermarket exhaust on which was put on back in the beginning of September but haven't checked it yet to see if that is the cause of the sound.

Does anyone have any further updates to this thread?

Thanks!

Just an assumption but could it be a possible loose bolt under the car. Let's just say you did hit something, and there is a hole. It would usually wouldn't get more persistant unless you kept on hitting things. If it was a loose bolt and your driving at high speed, the vibrating could make the bolt even more loose cauing you hear more of the annoying noise.

is the hissing based on engine speed, higher rpm=more noise? Or speed? can you recreate the noise revving it in neutral? These are some starting points to find out what it is.

90% chance that the hissing is result of the exhaust gas escaping through crack and or loose joint between the midpipe and the axle back section. Refer to this thread for solution if it is the joint. Same is applicable in case of the aftermarket exhausts.
