Popping noise when turning the steering wheel

I have a 09 Lancer ES, and my fiance has a 09 Lancer GTS. We are both having similar issues with the steering. It seems that whenever we turn our steering wheels we get a popping noise from under the hood. My ES only has 11k miles on it and her GTS has 33k and neither of us have had any other issues but both have been doing it for a while now. Anybody know what is causing this? We haven't had any mechanical problems with either one... yet.

its cold out, its just thermal expansion from ur suspension moving around. It will go away as the weather gets warmer

I was having the same issue with the clicking noise, but mine sounded like it was coming under the dash. Dealership couldn't replicate of course.. Usual answer, wait until it gets worse.

I have used to have an issue with this as well. I hit a curb while I was driving. Anyways. Being in winter didn't help so i went into the dealership and explained that it was due to pot holes.

They replaced both strut mount bearings and did an alignment. It worked, almost perfectly! There is a very very small popping noise, but its now only due to the colt weather.

So go in and get an alignment and possibly install new strut bearings!
