plastic piece of rear shelf rattles a lot

well, i said it already, the plastic that is on the car's rear shelf (between the rear seats' headrests and the rear windshield) rattles a lot when i go over TINY bumps, and even more if i fall in big potholes... it drives me crazy and it gives the appearance and feel that my car is falling apart(its pretty well kept actually).

im completely sure the cause of the rattle is this, because ive heard the noise, then i went to the back and knock the plastic with my hand, and makes the same noise, so its the damn plastic.

i was wondering if someone has found a solution for this.. and if it is removal, HOW do u manage to remove it? i cant find a way to do it without breaking something lol...

thanks for ur answers in advance

I think I've heard of ppl shoving insoles from shoes in there. New ones obviously, its a cheep fix. Shove them in from the trunk.
You could take the shelf off and install some sound deadening material under it, dynamat or any other product would work for that application. It gets pretty hot there so probably wouldn't use tar or asphalt based product.
Not sure exactly how the shelf comes out. But I know you can start by folding the seats down. Then i think theres little (button looking) type of plastic clips. Pull the centre of the clip out, then the rest will come with it. By that point hopefully you can figure out the rest.
